Reversible logic plays an important role in quantum computing. Several papers have been recently published on universality of sets of reversible gates. However, a fundamental unsolved problem remains: “what is the minimum set of gates that are universal for nn-qubit circuits without ancillae bits”. We present a library of 2 gates which is sufficient to realize all reversible circuits of n variables. It is a minimal library of gates for binary reversible logic circuits. We also analyze the complexity of the syntheses.
The problem of crystal growth under conditions of constant cooling rate is solved. The solution is exact in the sense that the full Arrhenius form of the liquidus curve is used. Ths Roshe Run Uk solution is compared to Minden's approximate treatment. The approximate result applies only for short values of the time or when the heat of solution is large with respect to the initial thermal energy. Experimental tests of the growth kinetics are emphasized.
High-quality octahedral and flattened diamond crystals have been successfully synthesized using the inert-gas curtain combustion method on amorphous SiC (a-SiC) film preformed Nike Free 4 on Si substrates. The number density and the diameter of the diamond crystals were controlled by the a-SiC film thickness, while their morphology varied with the growth temperature. Flattened diamonds appeared at lower deposition temperatures. SEM and Raman observations indicate excellent crystallinity of these diamonds.
