Ground-borne noise is one of the main causes of environmental impact from urban rail transit systems. The vibration resulting from track-train interaction is transmitted through the tunnel 3tructure and the surrounding ground to adjacent buildings. The resulting vibrations of the walls and floors of these buildings cause secondary radiation of noise. A new method is presented to eliminate the Nike Roshe Uk 4
undesirable end-effect appearing in the formation of a strip beam of charged particles according to the Pierce theory, without any additional device. By this method, a beam with finite length can be formed, regarding the cross section of the beam reasonably as a thin ellipse.An analytical solution is given for a rectilinear elliptic beam formation. It is troublesome, however, to perform the complete evaluation of the solution, but an approximation is also presented with sufficient accuracy.
In this paper we study a storage process or a liquid queue in which the input process is the local time of a positively recurrent stationary diffusion in stationary state and the potential output takes place with a constant deterministic rate. For this storage process we find its stationary distribution and compute the joint distribution of the starting and ending times of the busy and idle periods. This work completes and extends to a more general setting the results of Mannersalo et al. [Queueing Systems 46 (2004) 557].
